BEN DAVIS

Ben Davis, MA, ATR-BC, LCAT (he/him) is a psychotherapist, educator and author, as well as the founder and director of Full Spectrum. Over the past two decades, Ben has focused on the unique and specific needs of transgender and non-binary individuals and families. He uses art therapy and verbal modalities with clients, aiming to build personal agency and empower healing. His approach to therapy is warm, empathic and strength-based.

 

Ben’s work is informed by non-pathologizing treatment models, community-based research, creative arts modalities, systems theory and queer advocacy. He has presented in hospital, academic, and agency settings nationally and internationally. His partnerships have included the New York City Department of Health, Callen Lorde Community Center, the Gender Identity Project, the Ackerman Institute's Gender & Family Project, New York University, and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). Ben is WPATH GEI SOC8 Certified and committed to supporting trans and gender diverse individuals move towards actualization of their authentic selves.

 

Ben provides psychotherapy, clinical supervision and consultation, as well as training for therapists, educators, and institutions. 

His's last two publications include Oxford University Press's What Everyone Needs to Know: Gender (2020), and Art Therapy Practices for Resilient Youth: A Strengths-Based Approach to At-Promise Children and Adolescents, published by Routledge in 2019.
