Emily DeMaioNewton

Emily DeMaioNewton (they/them), MA, CAT-LP, is an art therapist who works with children, teenagers, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, current or past trauma, and experiences related to neurodivergence, such as autism and ADHD. Emily believes in everybody’s inherent capacity for growth. They use a blend of trauma-informed art therapy, talk therapy, and relational techniques to help clients deepen their self-understanding, develop emotional regulation strategies, and create a meaningful life narrative.

 

As a neurodiveristy-affirming therapist, Emily works to understand how each person’s nervous system shapes their worldview, day-to-day functioning, and relationships. They are passionate about helping clients recognize, honor, and meet needs that may have been previously suppressed or misunderstood. Their therapeutic approach emphasizes building sustainable skills without disregarding those needs, integrating both acceptance and growth.
